We can also “tailor” make a special trek to suit your requests or plans, just let us know what you would like to do.

It is important to be well acclimatised before starting any trek. We recommend that you arrive in Huaraz at least two days before your trek starts so that you have time to start acclimatising. We can recommend and organise suitable day hikes to help with the acclimatisation process.

On the treks we use donkeys to carry camping & cooking equipment, tents, food and your personal bag. You only carry a light day pack with camera, snacks, water bottle, warm jacket etc. Our guides and crew are very experienced and know how to manage trekking at altitude. We always walk slowly, take plenty of rest breaks and make sure that you have plenty of boiled water to drink

Our Olleros to Chavin trek combines 3 days of trekking through a remote area of the Cordillera Blanca removed from the busier tourist circuits and where local people still lead a traditional way of life.
The trek finishes at the archaeological site of Chavín de Huántar which was the centre of the Chavín culture, the oldest major culture in Peru existing from around 1000 to 300 BC. The site of Chavín de Huántar is an incredible feat of engineering, with most of the construction being built underground in an extensive labyrinth of interconnecting chambers and tunnels.

The trek starts at Cashapampa village and goes into the heart of the Cordillera Blanca and very close to its most spectacular mountain capped peaks including Alpamayo, Chacraraju, Taulliraju and the Contrahiervas range. We’ll cross two high passes, first the Punta Union (4750m) and then Punta Yanayacu (4850m), no more than a notch in a rocky ridge, past which we’ll see Chopicalqui, one of the highest peaks in Peru.
