Huascaran-Sur (6768m),
Peru's highest peak and one of the most imposing
summits in the world. It offers a challenging ascent
requiring intermediate level alpine skills, and
an unusual opportunity for climbers who want to
make an ascent to very high altitude.
Before to attempt Huascaran people should
have trekked 6 days minimum and have climbed a 5000
peak for a good acclimatisation and fitness.
Day 1:
We take private transportation to
Musho, and with the help of burros and porters
set up base camp (4250m.).
Day 2: We'll use this day
to rest and acclimatise at Base Camp 1 for
our push to the next camp. |

Day 3: With
the help of porters we'll climb to and establish
Camp I (5350m)
Day 4: Again with the help of porters
we'll climb to and establish our II high camp
(6000m.) on Huascaran, at the col between
Huascaran Sur and Norte. This is one of the
most spectacular high camp's in the world
with views of the Cordillera Negra to the
east and Huascaran's sister, Chopiqualqui
(20,841 ft.). |
Day 5:
Summit day on Huascaran (6768m.) and descend
to High camp I.
Day 6: High Camp I to Base
Camp. |

to Huaraz and celebrate!
Day 8: Return to Lima.
